Cookie Policy
Last updated: August 14, 2026
This one is short, because our cookie usage is short: only what's strictly necessary to sign you in through Shopify. No analytics cookies, no advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking.
1. Cookies the app uses
In short: Only strictly necessary session cookies, set during Shopify sign-in.
When you install or open SaleGuard, the Shopify authentication flow may set session cookies so your store stays signed in to the app. These are strictly necessary cookies — the app cannot work without them, so no consent banner is required for them under EU cookie rules.
| Cookie | Purpose | Type / lifetime |
|---|---|---|
Shopify app session cookies (names like shopify_app_session) | Keep your store’s sign-in to the app during and after the Shopify OAuth flow. | Strictly necessary; session-scoped. |
Inside the Shopify admin, the embedded app also relies on Shopify’s own session mechanisms (such as session tokens); those are governed by Shopify’s cookie policy, not ours.
2. Cookies we do not use
In short: No analytics, no ads, no tracking pixels — on the app or the marketing site.
- No analytics cookies (no Google Analytics or similar).
- No advertising or retargeting cookies.
- No cross-site tracking pixels or fingerprinting.
- Our marketing site (saleguard.app) is a static page and sets no cookies of its own.
If we ever introduce analytics or any non-essential cookies, we will update this page first and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent before setting them.
3. Managing cookies
In short: You can block cookies in your browser, but sign-in will stop working.
You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings. Because the only cookies we use are the ones sign-in depends on, blocking them means the app cannot keep you signed in.
